New 20150110 MegaDrum firmware and MegaDrumManager versions released

I just released a new firmware version which adds support for 'MIDI2 for Sysex Only' (MIDI2ForSysex) on STM32 based MegaDrum. When MIDI2ForSysex is set to Yes the second USB MIDI Port will transmit only SySex messages. Default is No. This is implemented to prevent MIDI softs/synths listening on all MIDI ports from receiving the same Note On/Off messages twice.

This new firmware version is acompanied by a new MegaDrumManager version, 20150110, which adds support for 'MIDI2 For Sysex Only' (in Global settings).

MegaDrum Lite kit is now for sale

Today I introduced a new MegaDrum kit - MegaDrum Lite kit.

MegaDrum Lite kit differs from the MegaDrum Full/Basic/Minimal kits in a few ways:

  1. MegaDrum Lite kit is limited to 24 inputs.
  2. Standard MIDI ports are excluded so it can be used only via USB (USB MIDI).
  3. Rotary encoders are not supported.
  4. The main board is smaller - 50x50mm.
  5. Of course it's cheaper.

New 20141203 MegaDrum firmware and MegaDrumManager versions released

I just released a new firmware version which adds support for Alterantive Sampling algorithm (AltSamplingAlg setting) on MegaDrum with the latest STM32F205RCT6 MCU. The new algorithm reduces digital noise and may allow to set Thresholds lower and as a result it may improve sensitivity.

This new firmware version is acompanied by a new MegaDrumManager version, 20141203, which adds support for AltSamplingAlg (in Misc settings).

New ARM based MegaDrum running at 120MHz

Today I introduced a new ARM version of MegaDrum based on an STM32F205RCT6 chip. Compared to the older STM32F103RCT6 version, it is running at higher clock frequency - 120MHz vs 72MHz. Faster speed will allow to reduce internal latency a bit more. Modules and kits based on the new ARM chip are available for order at the same price as the older version.
