issue mesh heads

Postby henk_thl » Fri Dec 09, 2016 6:03 pm

Hi all,

I'm in the process of converting an analogue drumkit to an e-drumkit. I've bought an old Thunder kit second hand and used brand new 682drums meshheads on it. At the moment i'm using my old Roland TD-3 module in combination with Ddrum red triggers, but as soon as I got enough money I'll buy a Megadrum module. Just because my TD-3 doesn't have that much inputs.

But I have a question in between. Since the conversion I have a lot of double triggering on my bass drum. The other toms/snare is working flawlessly. I've been playing around with the retrigger setting and the mask time setting. but I can't find a sweet spot for a correct triggering. I've tightened the mesh head, but that also didn't work. I also put a blanket in the bass drum.

Will the megadrum solve this problem? or do I need to also do other things? It's my first attempt at using a mesh head for bass drum. I read something about the cone trigger kit. Does this cancel the retrigger?

regards,
Henk

It's hard to say without having the pad. If a pad produces a very bad signal it may be very hard to get good triggering from it even with MegaDrum.
