Happy Birthday, Megadrum!

Postby Beamtreetaker » Fri Aug 01, 2008 4:12 pm

Since Megadrum was published exactly one year ago I just wanted to say: HAPY BIRTHDAY!!

And as a special birthday present I'm going to pronounce that there's a new Controller Software on its way. I spent the last week programming it and I am progressing quite fast. The tool will be able to configure 32 input modules and offers an appealing user interface. This version will be Win-only but I'm planning to start working on Linux and MacOS ports as soon as I'm done with this one.

So, now let's celebrate the coolest DIY project on the net!

A new Controller software will be a very nice Birthday present to all MegaDrum owners!

Happy birthday 2 u MD! ;)

Little child has developed quite much during this year. Great work Dmitri! Also Synthex and others alike.

Beamtreetaker, that looks (to me)Absolutely fantastic! Maybe i should hurry up doing megadrum complete so I could test that out. But I dunno where to get atmega. (I'd rather not order abroad, but I think, that's the only option, bc finland is poor, if u need to buy electronics.)

Nice to hear that you are welcoming this software! I think I will be able to release an alpha release of the tool at the end of the week to interested parties (just drop me a PM). Right now I am testing the tool just by using MidiOX (my Atmega seems to have died last weekend :(), which should be sufficent though.

Dmitri, is the current edition of menulayout.pdf up to date? If not, could you try to update it before going to your well-deserved holidays? Btw, I'll also be away between August 13th and September 3th, so you will have enough time for finding bugs ;)

Btw, how did your Atmega die? I abuse my prototypes and ICs but none of them have died so far.

If I only KNEW how!
From one day to another it refused to work - the LCD now shows black blocks only. I think there's still a spot on the board that I didn't solder well or it's a defective part - I dunno. I can enter the bootloader and also flash a new firmware but starting is not possible. I will build a new unit after my holidays.
