IT CAME! :)

Right now I'm in the midst of turning my PC into a hackintosh, so it may be a few days before I can test it (haven't quite got sound or firewire working, and BFD2 crashes immediately...)

Except lots of stupid questions coming from over here soon

What does the "input switch" on this do? I don't see it mentioned anywhere here...

This is to select Low/High impedance pedal controller input.

Changes in 20080530 version:
...
3. Added an option to connect a high impedance HiHat controller to 32 inputs version of MegaDrum. That required small changes to the schematics. You can see in the Analogue Board schematic for 32 inputs version that pin 2 of J1.1 (only in the first of two Analogue boards) can now be used as an input for HiHat pedal controllers with high impedance. There is a relevant setting in the menu for this: HiHat Pedal->AltIn

Which firmware do I update with on this? The 32, or the 644? I want to upgrade so that I can use the MCT software...

Do I need an ISP cable to do this? Or is it possible over USB?

Sorry for the late replay. As I posted in the forum, I was away on holiday.
Your module is 'latest and greatest', i.e. it is 32 inputs version and uses Atmega644 20Mhz so you must use megadrum644_20_32_xxxxxx.syx firmware. You don't need an ISP cable and you can do the upgrade either over USB or MIDI using a bootloader programmed into your module and MegaDrum Config Tool (MCT) - http://www.megadrum.info/configtool/.

No problem, I hope you had a good vacation!

Anyways, it says on the MCT page that "The MCT needs Megadrum to have a firmware version equal or newer than version 20081006" and my firmware is older than that... actually the reason I'm wanted to update the firmware is so that I CAN use MDT! :)

I tried anyways, but although the Megadrum shows up as a USB device plugged into the Mac, it's not selectable under the MIDI select in MCT..

EDIT - Crap! Now whenever I turn it on, it shows a blank screen; I can get the firmware update page to come up, but nothing else, and it's not sending any MIDI :(

You're erased the MegaDrum firmware:) Now you MUST upgrade it. The Mac version of MCT may have problems with the firmware update functionality. I'd suggest you to borrow a Win PC just to do the upgrade. You should be able to use any other MCT functionality on Mac after the upgrade.

Just tried it on my windows machine... it shows up in MCT as USB Audio Device, but when I try to send the firmware megadrum644_20_32_20081222.syx, MCT gives me an error saying unable to send sysex file... the Megadrum just keeps saying send sysex now and the MIDI activity light is on. :?:

Did you choose 20MHz in the bootloader?
