sustain pedal without keyboard

Anyone know how to get a sustain pedal to interface with the Alesis DM PRO without having a MIDI keyboard involved?

What are you trying to sustain? I'm not sure about the pro, but the DM5 is just short, simple sounds.
koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.
