Non-drum use of megadrum

Postby mbira » Tue Apr 19, 2011 9:18 pm

I've been using Megadrum to control Ableton, but my final wishes are being realized. I direct a Zimbabwean style marimba band, and I'm fitting each key with piezos to create acoustic synth-marimbas:

The wiring of the megadrum to piezos is not really an issue. Amongst your numerous posts here, you have eluded to between 2 and 5 octaves on this project. It really depends on what you want to do.
Do you just want an electronic mallet? Build your own - cross talk will be the main issue to overcome.
Do you want to trigger chords? e drums and megadrum - no question. You can wire megadrum many different ways.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.
