Hi All,

New super updated e-kit pad time!!!

Here is a link to download all my MegaDrum .syx files I have currently set up with my kit. Also included is a .txt file of my Hi Hat pedal settings for the Roland VH-12.

Keep in mind I am using Superior Drummer 2 as my sound engine, and my MIDI note numbers are reflective of what SD2 wants to see. Your perticular drum engine may vary. You must follow the setup procedure for SD2's Hi Hats for them to function properly.

Also, all of my pads are A to E made custom, using aluminum angle as the crossbar, mounted with nuts and bolts.
Every pad has Quartz Percussion Piezo and Cone Triggers, and I am using 3 ply Humm Drum Mesh Heads. Good amount of tension on the heads.

I am additionally using 100k potentiometers on all of the mesh pads to 'cool' them down.

Please contact me thru PM if you have any issues downloading these files. Enjoy!

NOTE: These settings are for MegaDrum Atmega 1284 version.

If anybody out there is interested - I have just successfully managed to configure the Roland BT-1 (Trigger bar) with the MegaDRUM trigger device to use the function that eliminates false triggering when playing on surrounding drums/pads.

See my video and visit my site for details. http://bit.ly/1126i3K (All details + settings)

Anders, many thanks for as always thorough testing and and sharing results! I have a few notes though.

From http://www.megadrum.info/content/pads-settings the explanation of the CutOff function is :
When set to CutOff the 'ANote' setting changes it meaning to 'cut off' level - hits with velocities below level set in 'ANote' will not trigger Note On/Off messages.

This means that if you use it for false triggering suppression you lose some true triggering with velocity levels below value set in ANote.

My thought about BT-1 being piezo/switch device is to configure it as a normal dual zone piezo/switch pad/cymbal but setting notes on a "virtual head/bow" of BT-1 to a note which doesn't trigger a sound and setting notes on a "virtual rim/edge" of BT-1 to a desired note for BT-1. This way BT-1 won't trigger due to crosstalk since it will trigger only when you hit it and make a contact on its switch.
What do you think?

Thanks Dmitri! (More will follow....)

I should have been reading the documentation before my post...!! I currently have an Alt Note Value on 73...so every hit below 73 of velocity has then been cut!

I will try your suggestion and see what's happen. It is actually working great with my current settings, but could maybe even get better doing it your way!

I am going to dissect your MDS file...Yes..It looks a bit different.. :-)
How was it now..was your hihat also a DYI? Not a FD-8?

Best Regards

Anders

yo, the Controller is an fd-8 and the hat is a cy-5... but both are modified... the footcontroller is modified by soldering a 10k resisotor beteween tip and ring. the cy-5 is from the botoom on modified. have changed wiring, piezo mounting, pizo....

Hi, what is the changed wiring of the CY 5 did you do? Can you explain...thanks

the most recent post on this thread is over 4 years ago. Is this thread even helpful anymore? none of the settings for my pads have worked, and I suspect it's because the settings posted in this thread were for an older firmware/hardware version. So who would this thread be helpful to?
