Is my MegaDrum broken?

Postby jclark1118 » Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:29 am

Turned on my module and noticed something was being triggered repeatedly. Opened MDM and it's the snare going off constantly. I unplugged the snare cable and it still goes off. I turned off the module, restarted my computer and no change. Even tried changing the ports the USB cable is plugged in to and no change. See below for screen shot of my MDM

No it is not broken. Plug the snare back in and increase the threshold. Untick high level auto whilst there.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

Yeah, that didnt work. I turned auto high off and set the threshold to 127 since thats apparently the maximum. The snare is still constantly maxing out and non-stop. Still even without the cable plugged in

Power up MegaDrum while holding the RIGHT button (built into right encoder) pressed.

Powering it up while pressing in the right button doesnt do anything.

Powering it up while holding the left button puts in to what I think is update mode. Is that what you were trying to get me to do?

No, pressing and holding the right button/encoder was the plan, it provides a factory reset. If you wish to perform a firmware refresh or update, feel free to do that also. Also, if not already set as such, navigate to AutoloadConf in menu from the MegaDrum interface and set to No from the menu. Refresh my memory, did you build this or did Dmitri?

Dmitri built it just a little over a month ago. It was working fine until yesterday when it suddenly started messing up.

Trying your suggestions now. Will update

Looks like Auto Load Config was already set to no.

Powering it up while holding the right button doesnt do anything aside from start firing through the menu after it's turned on

Is your input still triggering by itself according to the screen on the MD? If so, remove all your cables from the rear of MD except USB, and power it back up. We are trying to find the problem by doing this. Is USB connected to a computer? Have you restarted the computer? Is it connected to a USB hub? If so, remove from hub and
directlyy connect to a port. Is it still triggering in the display?

I unplugged all cables from the back except USB, and powered the unit on. The snare is still triggering with nothing plugged in.

The unit is plugged in to a laptop directly to a USB port. I've tried changing the ports. I've tried re-seating the USB cable in the back of the MD unit. Snare is still triggering

I tried restarting the laptop, unplugging the power cable, extra monitor, and audio interface from the laptop so that nothing else is plugged in aside from the MD unit. Snare is still triggering.
