Hi-hat setup

Postby Gluv1 » Wed Jan 06, 2021 9:03 am

Is it possible to set up the hi-hat so that the chick chokes an open hit? Currently on mine the sound of an open hit continues to ring after a chick.

As far as I know, the drum soft synth app really should take care of this - it should cancel any HiHat cymbal sound once it receives a chick.

I don't know if it's possible with Hydrogen. I'll have to investigate. What parameter would the soft synth look at? Would it be the note number?

In Hydrogen you have to use the 'mute group' function. Put all the different hi hat openness levels (I assume you have a note assigned for each level of openness) into the same group and at each transition the previous level will be muted.

See here.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

Thank you very much ignotus, I'll try that. I'm glad you have gone down this route before :D
