Audio Phasing Issue

Postby matthewordie » Wed Sep 14, 2016 1:38 am

I'm getting a phase type sound every 20 seconds or so using my megadrum. I swapped to my TD-9 Module and it does not happen. I tried multiple DAW's and drum VST's and it happens regardless.

Is there some issue with my hardware? I just got it recently and it's done it since I got it. Any ideas what it might be?

My snare is set to around 8 for the Retrigger Mask setting. Right now it's the only pad connected while I'm testing. The audio phasing happens regardless of how many pads are in use though.

I don't quite understand what "a phase type sound" mean. Can you explain?

Here's an MP3 of the sound:https://www.dropbox.com/s/tjfzguxgngjao8x/snare-phase.mp3?dl=0

You can hear the phasing sound around the 6 second mark. Sometimes it sounds much worse than that, I've been playing with the pad settings trying to get it to sound correct.

I don't really know how to describe it, which is why I sent the audio example. Like the tone is coming in and out. Kinda washy. Similar to a guitar phaser effect, like it's turning on and off while I play.

You can hear an exaggerated example of it on the drums at the beginning of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8jR8j_5iAk

It is the same sample being triggered twice, very quickly.

Check on the midi log as to whether 2 notes are being sent.
Retrigger at 8 should be OK
Un tick the midi thru (file/options) if not already done - this can cause a midi loop.

Where can I find the midi log? I will test this when I get home thanks!
