How do you assign CC for pos sens?

I have:

14inch snare
2x 12inch floor Tom's
2x 10inch rack Tom's

All mesh heads with centrally located peizos. Can confirm positional sensing has worked.

But they all send CC16, can I give them a different CC each?

No, but CC messages are sent right before MIDI Note On messages - this way they are linked in definitive way to specific inputs.

Hi Dmitri,

Ok I understand. So how do I make the module send out different notes based on the cc?

The module sends the same note regardless of hit position. The software should interpret the preceding MIDI CC 16 to use the correct positional sound for the Note On message.

I use superior drummer 3, which has a section on its midi page dedicated to snare zones, and besides some fine tuning and velocity issues it's all ok there.

SD3 also allows zones and a CC to be assigned to any pad, Toms in my case. so what you're saying is that I can assign CC16 to all of these drums and they won't interfere with each other?

I think so but I'm not the best person to answer this.

I'm read that tom1 uses cc17, tom2 cc18 and floor tom cc19. Or something close to that.

Can they be configured to use the same CC 16?

What I read must have been someone's wishlist - I just went on Toontrack's forum and found nothing about tom's using cc17 or higher.
