LCD not working

I'm not real sure what to do. I've finally got the time to try and get this all to work after over a year (yes, I said over a year. Don't judge me lol) . . Anyway, the LCD on my MD isn't lighting up. It's a 32 input module in a rack mount case with the 2.2" LCD. I purchased it pre-built. I do get triggered sound using AD2, albeit with a delay so I know it's working but no LCD. I did think about upgrading the firmware but don't know which bin to use. Thoughts?

Thanks!

For the LCD you probably have to increase brightness. Right after powering up the module turn the right encoder clockwise until it brightens up.
For a correct firmware file please see explanation in the first post in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1075

I was able to successfully upgrade the firmware by cross referencing the MCU field in MegaDrumManager FX. I couldn't upgrade the firmware via that software so I went ahead and tried using the command line tool and it worked like a charm. I had to do it "blind" as I couldn't see the display, but I was successful... Thank you!

I tried your suggestion with the LCD, but was a no go.

Update...

I'm not sure what I did, but the LCD is *kind of* working now. It tries to come on, but just doesn't want to stay... See link for video of what's going on:

Looks like either a failing backlight LED in the LCD or a loose LCD cable connection.

Ok, I haven't cracked the case open (I bought it pre-built) but would that be easy to replace? What should I replace it with?

It depends on how easy you are with electronics. The LCD is 2.2" ili9341 based. There are several types of them. To make sure you buy a correct one, you need to open the case and buy exactly the same model as in the module. But as I said, it may very well be just a loose LCD cable.

Okay, new info... I cracked the case and reseated the cables and for the most part the LCD is working. However, now if I try to trigger, it will fire a whole mess of random inputs. I only have a single (dual piezo) trigger plugged in. I tried to "reset" it by reloading the firmware but no go. Also, it seems that occasionally it just feels like randomly firing off a trigger. Is there some sort of common ground somewhere?

1. To load default settings, power it up while holding the right button pressed.
2. Random triggering without hits may be caused by setting Threshold too low.
3. Random triggering without hits may be caused by bad cables (bad shielding/no shielding) or bad pad wiring. Unshielded cables serve as aerial picking up electromagnetic noise.
