Yes, the VST knows when to play a chick without receiving a note because of the CC data it receives from the controller - the same goes for footsplashes too. As for the unwanted note played when you bring the hi hat cymbal down (I also get one if I let the hi hat pedal snap back up without using my foot to control it), I don't think there's much you can do apart from trying to cushion the underside so there's not so much of an impact when closing it.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

I don't think Superior Drummer even supports auto chicks from CC4 then. It's completely silent running without a manually triggered note from Megadrum. :?

Perhaps I will finally get round to trying AD2.

Concur with your issue on the upstroke trigger btw. I was going to write something about it, but it's pretty clear what's going on there. I need to figure out how to develop an upwards washer for my hi-hat stand - or stop raising my foot off the pedal. :roll: You can make some cool grooves with the exploit though :D
