Yes, this firmware for 18F2550 is CDC implementation, then serial to midi still will be required.

In the future, we can imagine a USB HID MIDI device ...

In fact, it is obliged to mount the LCD and keyboard, just to configure the speed MIDI at 38400 (MIDI over USB port), isn't it ?

I will compile a firmware where 38400 is a default speed.

An USB/MIDI device driver would be great..
No serial/midi drivers...

Synthex, I've compiled a firmware which sets MIDI speed to 38400 at the boot if the 'DOWN' key is pressed while MegaDrum is powered up. I attached it in case you want it to test while I'm away from home.

Thanks !
I will test it tonight.

But, to press the 'DOWN' key while MegaDrum is powered up, Keyboard must be mounted. ;)

I will make 18F2550 firmware version with a 31250 baud bit rate.
Then, it will be possible to use USB with MIDI.

Not really. On a keyless MegaDrum pin 7 of Atmega32 or pin 18 of Atmega8 will just need to be connected to the ground over a 330 Ohm resistor.

It is a good thing to be able to configure megadrum as it !! :)

I am working on a USB HID interface for Megadrum.
So that Megadrum is directly recognized as a MIDI interface without need of driver !

Shouldn't it be USB Audio for MIDI? As far as I know USB HID implies 10ms latency penalty and would require a HID->MIDI driver .

Yes, it's USB Audio/Video device for MIDI by PIC HID with no latency penalty.
