Make a Megadrum

Postby Synthex » Fri Oct 12, 2007 3:07 pm

Hello,

Very soon I will build this unit.

I would like to know if anyone has already built this unit ?
What are the opinions ?

Thanks !

I guess you are asking if anyone, besides me, has built it and can give you a more objective opinion then mine:)
Even in that case there is a bit of objectiveness in my opinion as I developed MegaDrum after building a very good admir's Edrum. Still there were some points with Edrum which didn't quite satisfy me. So, having both of them, I can compare:)

Naturally, i would like to have your opinion ;)
Especially compared to edrums.

Your project is really very good! :)

What triggers have you tested on Megadrum ?
(home-made pad, mesh head pad, ...)

Thanks !

I've tested it with home made pads, cheap Alesis pads, dual Yamaha TP80S piezo-switch pads, pads and cymbals from this drum kit http://www.thomann.de/gb/millenium_mps1 ... er_set.htm, and the pads from the same drum kit converted to mesh head pads. With all these pads MegaDrum triggers beautifully. It may sound as boasting but in all respects MegaDrum works better than Edrum and of course better than the drum module which came with the drum kit I mentioned above.
