Contrast pot - not any more

Check the latest MegaDrum firmware.

and the changes to the LCD module schematic (minus a pot, plus a resistor and a capacitor):

Does this mean that I must not use a pot with the new firmware? If I use a pot, will the LCD work the same way as if I replace it with a resistor-capacitor?

With the new firmware, you can use a pot or a resistor-capacitor. As you wish. ;)

Dmitri, are you sure that this craftiness works with all LCDs ?
Because you play with the duty cycle of the signal of bit7.
Do you change the duty cycle only when the LCD is not enable ?

Yes, I'm sure it will work with all LCDs with positive contrast bias.
