I 've been away from my Megadrum for two years (small appartment + 2 kids = no place for my drums). Now I am bringing my set back. I just updated my MD to the latest firmware. I red through this thread in a hurry and I didn't understand this:
1) Does MD offers PS on inputs 4 6 8 10 12?
2) If someone gets the PS board from Dmitri (not an option for me because of my customized board) will he/she be ready to use all of these inputs with PS?
3) In my case, should I build 5 boards (as the one proposed by Dmitri on page 1 of this thread) each for inputs 4 6 8 10 12?

It's good to be back...

Atmega644 based MegaDrum can do PS on inputs 4, 6, 8 and 10.
Atmega1284 based MegaDrum can do PS on inputs 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18.
ARM based MegaDrum can do PS on all even inputs.

The Positional Sensing addon board enables PS on inputs 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12.

Yes. Or you can combine them into one board as I do with the Positional Sensing addon board.

Thanks Dmitri, now things are clear.
I use Atmega644 so I must go for 4 6 8 and 10. Should I combine them all in one board I can use the same power source but beside that, I actually need to built a rectifier for each input (housed on the same board) right?

Using combined or separate boards is really up to you.

Forgive me, I wasn't clear. I ment that even in a single board it's still two opamps per input, right?

Yes. Isn't it clear from the schematic in the first post?

Hello from Canada!, I am new to megadrums my module is in the process of being build right now, I have a small question.

As per statement above : Atmega644 based MegaDrum can do PS on inputs 4, 6, 8 and 10.
Atmega1284 based MegaDrum can do PS on inputs 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18.
ARM based MegaDrum can do PS on all even inputs.

Does it means that can do PS on all even Inputs means I will have 16 channel that will do ps as I am ordering the 32 input.

I wanted to have Cymbals , toms, Snare and Hats to be PS I would need 9 Input PS.

All my Cymbal have kind of center trigger alesis surge , snare hart dynamic 14 inch mesh tom pintech 8, 10, 12,12 mesh, hihat vh12 all hart dynamics mesh maximum

Forgot , I am working with SD2.

Thanks again I will probably have a max of questions but I am trying to look in forum first and I cant wait to start working with this module!

In a 32 inputs version 1 input is used for a HiHat pedal, 1 input is used for Kick of the remaining 30 inputs 15 even inputs on a ARM based MegaDrum have firmware support for PS. Besides the firmware PS support on an input you also need a precision rectifier on an input for PS to work.
In the modules I build with the Positional sensing addon board built-in, the the Positional sensing addon board adds 5 precision rectifiers on inputs 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12.

Another quick question, ex: input are you referring to the physical input in the back of the module? as they are stereo for 2 zone/ or 2 single zone pad if this is the case the input 2 would then be able to do PS on both single zone pad in the input 2?

Thanks

The inputs are referering to the actual MD inputs...not the physical inputs. E.g. Input Number 2 is the snare head and number 3 is the snare rim. All inputs have the PS funtionality...but most often you need the rectifier functionality to make it to work. This is what the PS board is handling for input 2-4-6-8-10 etc.
