It is mentioned for some settings in http://www.megadrum.info/content/miscellaneous-settings but I probably should list explicitly those settings which I saved only only upon the exit from the menu?

Thank you for your answer Dmitri,
I can imagine you have a hard time keeping all your documentation up to date, and yes I have found, now you have pushed me in the right direction, that MIDI speed setting is saved only upon the exit from the menu, it is confusing, why not save all settings on "save Config" who cares?

I have an other question, I have made my latest changes because you have changed the function of MIDI speed, MD Could communicate about 8 times faster with the host over USB, which reduces latency, I like low latency :D
This is because "(I think) you increased the serial speed between Atmega and PIC.
Shoulnd't loading times in MDM for "Get all" be 8 times quicker?
I don't see a difference !

Kind regards,
Rob

Saving some settings separate from the Configs/Drum maps is done for a reason. E.g. for AutoLoadConf or AltEncoders it is obvious. For different MaxInputs values the memory placement in EEPROM for Configs/Drum map slots is different, so to know which EEPROM address to load from/save to Config 2 this EEPROM address must be calculated from MaxInputs and the number of Config/Drum maps is also dependant on MaxInputs.

No, for several different reasons. The main reason among these is that the most of the latency is still contributed by a PC. See viewtopic.php?p=18036#p18036

Hi Dmitri,

If I use the programming via ICSP or ICS, I need the bootloader installed on the ATMEGA?
The firmware version is different for this case?

Thanks

You have to read MegaDrum FAQ. Read it before posting in this forum! first.

The reference to the explanation is in the very first post of this topic.

Yes for the last unencrypted firmware version and no for any newer.

Hi Dmitri,
Newbies have question again:
1. How if i build MD PCB v2.7 all in one, but i use ATMEGA644 and PIC18F2550, does it work/ compatible for MD v2.7 all in one or (can i use ATMEGA644-20PU for MD PCB v2.7 all in one)??

2. Where can I download firmware with protected bootloader for ATMEGA644?? does is it the site http://www.megadrum.info/forums/download/file.php?id=2550 from this forum http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1075

3. Does the latest firmware at http://www.megadrum.info/forums/download/file.php?id=2550, compatible firmware for ATMEGA32???

4. Can i download last unencrypted firmware MD into ATMEGA32 or ATMEGA644 from this link http://www.megadrum.info/forums/download/file.php?id=2094 from this forum http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?p=12683#p12683 and then i upgrade again with newer version or latest version of firmware???

Thanx b4 for your attention....

Atmega32, 324, 644 are pin compatible so any them can be used in MegaDrum boards.

You cannot download the protected bootloader.

No.

You don't have the protected bootloader so the answer is No.
