Alesis Real Hat - high vs low impedance

Postby glenn.szymanski » Wed May 01, 2024 5:07 am

On the instructions for Megadrum 32 input, it shows 2 different pin inputs for a high hat pedal. High and Low Impedance

Is there any way to tell which one I would use for an Alesis Real Hat pedal. There isn't any info on their website. Would I have to take it apart or use a multimeter on the output?

Most pedals will work best with the low impedance input.
If this pedal turns out to be high impedance (unlikely), that is very small voltage change between positions - no big deal, just move it to the high impedance input (and change the pedal config to use Alt Input).

I heard back from Alesis...

"the RealHat Pedal variable resistance should be 0 - 62 ohms so it would be considered low impedance."

Is this also a range that the Megadrum would consider low impedance?

It is low impedance.
